Chris Pratt addresses the missing Star-Lord chair during Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday reveal. Will he return for the multiversal battle ahead?

Recently, Marvel Studios conducted a livestream revealing cast members for the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday.” Many names expected to be shown during that broadcast did not appear. One noticeable one involved the Legendary Star-Lord, Chris Pratt.
Star-Lord, his close friends call him Peter Quill, or so Rocket Raccoon says on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot, has played a key role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, where was his chair during the Marvel livestream?
Star-Lord
Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord has been a staple in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after debuting in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” He also appeared in “Avengers: Infinity War” and Avengers: Endgame.” Star-Lord led the Guardians of the Galaxy in all three Guardians movies. The final one served as a send-off for the core group of Guardians. However, the closing title card of the final Guardians movie confirmed that Star-Lord would return in the future. So, where was his chair? If Star-Lord returns, then a major Avengers movie makes sense to be that appearance.
During a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub to talk about his upcoming sci-fi thriller, “Mercy,” Pratt confirmed that he and Marvel will make good on the promise of a Star-Lord return. Pratt, said in the interview, “I can’t say, for fans of mine, where they’ll see Star-Lord again, but I can tell them we made a promise at the end of [Guardians of the Galaxy] Vol. 3 that the legendary Star-Lord will return, and he will return.”
Star-Lord and his Chair
Pratt also expressed some thoughts about fans not seeing a chair with his name on it during the Marvel Studios livestream. He said, “I don’t know! I think it was, like, far off… They must have cut away from it. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know. It was there. I’m sure it was there.” Marvel Studios has hinted that it would reveal more names to star in the film, but it is unclear if Pratt would be included in the next set of actors.
“Avengers: Doomsday”

While official details about “Avengers: Doomsday” are scarce, early leaks and fan speculation suggest the film could be one of the most ambitious Avengers movies yet. “Avengers: Doomsday” is expected to explore the rise of an overwhelming cosmic threat, possibly involving Doctor Doom or a new multiversal villain. Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame” and the multiverse-shifting chaos of “Loki” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” this new chapter could unite heroes across timelines and realities.

The potential lineup may include returning favorites like Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and Sam Wilson’s Captain America, alongside newer faces such as Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and the Young Avengers. If Avengers: Doomsday lives up to its title, it could mark the most epic battle yet in the MCU, one that decides the fate of not just Earth, but the entire multiverse. This movie releases in theatres May 1, 2026.
