Universal Orlando’s Butterbeer Season 2025 introduced a Butterbeer candy bar! We tried this sweet Wizarding World treat. What did we think?

As Universal Orlando stated in a previous press release, “For Harry Potter fans and theme park foodies alike, there’s nothing quite like the frothy, butterscotch-meets-shortbread delight of Butterbeer. Butterbeer Season runs at Universal Orlando through May 31, 2025.

Butterbeer Season isn’t just a Universal theme park event; it’s a Warner Bros. Discovery global initiative designed to honor this beloved beverage’s joy, comfort, and nostalgia. First introduced in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Butterbeer has become a worldwide symbol of magic and togetherness. Now, every March through May, fans worldwide can enjoy exclusive treats, merchandise, and special events dedicated to all things Butterbeer.

Many special Butterbeer Season treats have been created. Some, like Butterbeer Goldfish, can be found in your local grocery store.

This season at Universal Orlando Resort promised two new Butterbeer treats. One was a Butterbeer-flavored chocolate bar. That was not available when Butterbeer Season started.

However, we made a trip to Universal Orlando Resort recently. On that visit, we found the new Butterbeer candy bar at the Universal Studios Store at Universal CityWalk Orlando. Guests will find it in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section.

This brand-new Butterbeer candy bar costs ten dollars. In a taste-testing review video, we stated that it cost $10.95, which was incorrect. However, annual pass discounts do apply. It comes in fabulous wrapping that Wizarding World of Harry Potter fans will love.

Guests should be aware that the candy bar is very thin compared to other candy bars at Universal Orlando Resort. They may experience the same as we did with our Butterbeer candy bar breaking before we opened it.

The signature Butterbeer logo on the front of the candy bar only starts the taste experience. The top layer looks like white chocolate. We expected this candy bar to taste more like white chocolate. We based this on the fact that Universal Orlando Resort initially declared this would be a Butterbeer-flavored chocolate bar.

Despite that, the bottom layer of the candy bar looks like it will taste like butterscotch. After we took a bite or two, we discovered that this new candy tasted like Butterbeer with no hint of any chocolate. That is not a complaint. We found it to be a fabulous treat for Butterbeer fans. In simple terms, it tastes like a solid version of the classic Universal Orlando Resort beverage.

Still, this candy bar tastes very sweet. We doubt many people will eat the whole thing in one sitting. Of course, the Butterbeer beverage can be overwhelming with its powerful sugary goodness.

Butterbeer Season at Universal Orlando Resort

Even though we were disappointed by the wait for this Butterbeer Season candy bar to arrive at Universal Orlando Resort, we found it honored the Wizarding World of Harry Potter tradition of sweet treats. Any Wizarding World of Harry Potter will need to try this candy bar. You might want to bring a friend to share it with, though. Five House Cup points to Universal Orlando Resort for this candy bar.

In a few days, we will have a review of the Butterbeer Cream Puff that serves as a new item for Butterbeer Season 2025. We tried it back on March 1 on its first day at Universal Orlando. On the same day, we found the candy bar, we tried the Butterbeer Cream Puff again to check on consistency.
