Warner Bros. Animation to Release ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’
Dr. Seuss fans will see an animated feature-length film version of “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” in theatres on March 17, 2028, from Warner Bros. Animation.
In another example of how theme park rights and movie rights do not directly connect, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation will release “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” in theatres. While Universal Pictures has dabbled with Dr. Seuss properties and movies, it is most known for Suess Landing at Universal Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida. However, Warner Bros. Animation also has some movie rights to Dr. Seuss properties.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Bad Robot are producing the movie by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. Jill Culton and Wicked‘s Jon M. Chu are co-directing the film with songs by Oscar and EGOT winners Benj Paske and Justin Paul. Rob Lieber devised the screenplay.
“Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” from Warner Bros. Animation
“Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” is based on Dr. Seuss’s book of the same title. This was the author’s last book, released in 1990. A playground area at Universal Islands of Adventure is based on the book. The book follows a young person’s adventures as they face life’s ups and downs. This should make an excellent canvas for an animated musical.
Warmer Bros. Pictures Animation
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation also has an additional movie based on one of Dr. Seuss’ books. Bill Hader will voice the main characters in an animated “Cat in the Hat” movie., which is scheduled to be released in 2026. This is expected to be released in 2026. Hader will voice The Cat in the Hat as well as Thing One and Thing Two.
John Chu, of “Wicked” fame, has been attached to the “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” project since 2021. Chu also has an adaptation of the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” in the works for Amazon Studios.
Theme Park Implications of “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” at Universal Orlando
Universal Orlando has an interesting relationship with Warner Bros. in the theme park rights sphere. Warner Bros. owns the Wizarding World of Harry Potter rights, which Universal Orlando has made very profitable in its theme parks. Will Universal do something new at Islands of Adventure when the Dr. Seuss movies come out? We will need to wait for that answer. For now, Dr. Seuss fans have something to look forward to in 2028.
