We tried the unique Capricciosa Pizza at Via Napoli in Epcot. See our detailed review, including flavors, ingredients, and whether we’d order it again.

Finding quality pizza at Walt Disney World can be challenging. Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Italy Pavilion of the World Showcase area at Epcot has earned a reputation for good pizza. We visited Via Napoli at Epcot. What did we think of the Capricciosa Pizza?

We visited Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria for lunch. The advanced dining reservation that we obtained via MouseDining.com was for noon. We went to the check-in area at the restaurant’s entrance to confirm our reservation. After that, we waited a few minutes, and then our name was called.

We were seated at a table for two towards the back of the restaurant. When we entered Via Napoli, most tables were not filled, so we suspect many tables were being held for walk-ups. We did hear a server say to one group that the walk-up wait would be about ten minutes, which we also experienced during another visit to Via Napoli.

On this day, we ordered the Capricciosa Pizza for our entrée, which we shared among two people. This pizza consists of tomato sauce, mozzarella parmacotto ham, olives, artichokes, mushrooms, and oregano. This pizza was cut into eight slices. The pizza at Via Napoli matches the thin style one would expect from this restaurant’s style.

When we ordered this pizza, we expected to enjoy this unique combination of ingredients. However, we found this pizza lacking the robust flavor we expected from Via Napoli.  We thought the pizza would be enhanced with a different type of sauce than the standard tomato sauce used at Via Napoli.

Crushed Red Pepper at Via Napoli?

The pizza tasted fine, but the overall reaction to our taste buds failed to be as expected. Fans of crushed red pepper might want to add it to this style of pizza. In fact, we added the crushed red pepper to bring a more assertive flavor to this pizza.

One member of our dining party is a big fan of mushrooms. However, they found the mushrooms underwhelming on this pizza. Despite that, the pizza was well prepared and had an excellent texture. Based on this experience, we would return to our favorite pizza here with pepperoni.

For full disclosure, we probably caught Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria on a bad day. For example, three times during this visit, cast members brought food intended for other guests to our table. This can happen even at Walt Disney World table service restaurants. We often have it happen at restaurants while dining around the Florida region. Still, it is rarely a good sign.

Despite that, our server did a quality job this afternoon at Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. One should expect at least above-average service at Walt Disney World table service dining options.

Conclusion

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria consistently provides a reliable dining experience. However, this place does not qualify as a quiet, romantic Italian restaurant. Still, the best pizza inside Walt Disney World’s four theme parks resides here.

Our group plans to return to this table service restaurant next month. However, we will utilize the Garden Rocks Dining Package, so pizza will probably not be our choice that day.

Sure, it will cost you a noticeable amount of your vacation food budget. If you want better value, we suggest you order the half-meter pizza with a large group, which feeds three or four.

At MainStMagic.com, we create one dining review to be released every Monday through Friday at noon Florida time. Readers can also search our site for “reviews” to find previous dining reviews and other theme park information. As always, eat like you mean it!
