The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando runs through May 4. We stopped in to try the Taco al Pastor. What did we think of the festival food item in the Mexico food and beverage area?
The Seven Seas Food Festival boasts over 190 internationally inspired dishes and beverages. It also offers guests an extensive selection of live concerts. The 2025 event marks the first time SeaWorld Orlando has expanded the Seven Seas Festival concert lineup to include select Friday-night performances in addition to the usual Saturdays and Sundays. Best of all, the concerts are included with theme park admission.
On previous trips to SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival, we tried all the new festival food items for this year. Thus, our latest visit involved trying a returning favorite, the Taco al Pastor.
Taco al Pastor at the Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando
This menu item comes from the Mexican Market food and beverage location. Guests can find this market near the Beer Garden between the Sesame Street area and the Ice Breaker coaster attraction.
The Taco al Pastor costs $11.99 without a sampler lanyard. With a sampler lanyard, this item costs $6 or less. The price point of $11.99 has a portion size issue. However, United Parks & Resorts, which SeaWorld Orlando is a part of, follows this pattern with pricing to encourage people to buy the sampler lanyard. We also expect similar pricing with a reasonable sampler lanyard deal when attending the Food & Wine Festival at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay next week. As a result, we suggest guests purchase the Seven Seas Food Festival sampler lanyard for 15 samples for $90.
Nevertheless, the SeaWorld ambassador working at this location provided more than enough taco fillings for the tortilla. We decided to use a fork for this taco, which was a good decision. It is a potentially messy entrée, with the sauce falling off the plate. Also i,f you wear a light-colored shirt, be careful not to spill.
Menu Description of Taco al Pastor
The menu description reads, “Mazina tortilla, Chipotle ancho adobo chicken with Pineapple Slaw and Cilantro Crema.” We thought the taco filling was decent quality, but the taco did lack the spicy kick one would expect from the Mexican food and beverage location.
Overall, the taco filling components pair well and provide something besides a standard theme park taco. The chefs should be commended for that since they could have played it safe with a standard taco filling.
Still, pineapple slaw and cilantro crema fail to stand out among the other ingredients with this festival item. The chipotle ancho adobo sauce reigns as the dominant flavor.
Overall, we found this a solid festival food item for those purchasing a sampler lanyard for the Seven Seas Food Festival. However, it would not make a best-item list. The Taco al Pastor provides a good but not great option.
