We review the Garlic Toast Chicken Parmigiana at SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival. Is this Italian Market dish worth trying, or does it fall flat?

Seven Seas Food Festival

The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando offers guests an Italian Market. We tried the Garlic Toast Chicken Parmigiana. How does this theme park Italy booth stack up for culinary goodness?

The Italian food and beverage locations at Orlando area theme park festivals do not have the best reputation for culinary creativity or quality. The food options at the Italian locations at Epcot and Universal Studios Florida’s current food festivals made “worst” lists for many theme park sites. Also, the Italy Cabin at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has underwhelmed guests so far during that theme park’s Food & Wine Festival. Since SeaWorld is part of the same overall company as Busch Gardens, will the infamous Italy booth curse continue?

In answering that question, we already possess a good idea of the answer after the opening evening of the Seven Seas Food Festival. Despite that, this theme park festival runs until May 4. That means things can change. Based on that premise, we visited the Italian Market at SeaWorld Orlando to try the Garlic Toast Chicken Parmigiana.

Garlic Toast Chicken Parmigiana at Seven Seas Food Festival

Seven Seas Food Festival

This theme park festival food item qualifies as brand new this year. Still, it sounds very familiar as traditional comfort food.. The menu description tells guests to expect “Crispy Breaded Chicken, Marinara, Mozzarella, Garlic Toast.” That description sounds straightforward. Nevertheless, the chicken is placed on top of the garlic toast. After that, it is run through a large broiler to reappear as an entrée. As some guests said, it looks like a chicken parmesan sandwich without the top piece of bread.

Well, how was it? It’s a decent piece of chicken. Also, the portion size receives high marks. However, it’s a bit “bready” for this type of entrée. The sauce works, but it should probably be more robust for this festival food item to shine.

Cheese was a non-factor in our most recent attempt at trying this item. Still, the cheese did not play a big part in the one we tasted on the event’s opening weekend either. The toast does offer a garlic taste. Nevertheless, it gets overwhelmed by the chicken and sauce.

Like many SeaWorld Orlando food festival items, this makes a poor value if purchasing it without a sampler lanyard. This entrée costs $11.99 without a sampler lanyard. With one, the price can drop as low as five dollars per item. As a result, we suggest buying a sampler lanyard and making a day of it at the Seven Seas Food Festival.

SEven Seas food Festival

We like this food festival item’s play on the classic chicken parmigiana. The concept is unique, but we are not sure it all combinesour well. This dish will suffer from a dryness issue for most guests. However, we enjoyed the flavor of the chicken during out most recent visit.

Good Option at SeaWorld Orlando

Despite those potential pitfalls, this makes a decent theme park food festival option. Sure, you can probably make this at home easily. However, the flavors, portion size, and value with a sampler lanyard make this a decent choice for guests to consider the Garlic Toast Chicken Parmigiana during their visit to the Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando. We respect that this is not a high standard but this ranks as the best Italian festival food we have enjoyed this year.
