We tried the Veggie Samosas at the 2025 Seven Seas Festival at SeaWorld Orlando. Did this vegan snack still live up to the hype?

The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando runs through May 4. The food at this festival has received good marks. We have spoken with many guests who remarked that the food exceeded their expectations. Of course, like all theme park food festivals, preparation can vary daily. On the opening weekend of the Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando, we wrote that the Veggie Samosas ranked as one of the best new food items at the event.

However, things change. Thus, we revisited SeaWorld Orlando and tried the Veggie Samosas. This new item for 2025 comes from the Indian Market near the water ride, Infinity Falls. The online menu description reads, “Vegetarian Samosas with Indian Red Pepper Hummus.” However, the in-person menu board provides more details. It says “Potatoes, Peas, Served with Indian Red Pepper Hummus.”
What are Veggie Samosas?

Veggie samosas are a popular Indian snack made of a crisp, golden pastry filled with a savory mixture of vegetables and spices. The filling typically includes potatoes, peas, onions, and sometimes carrots or lentils. Everything is seasoned with cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. The dough consists of flour, water, and a bit of oil, rolled into triangles, stuffed with the filling, and then deep-fried until crispy.
Veggie samosas are often served with tangy tamarind chutney or mint sauce and are enjoyed as an appetizer, street food, or party snack. They are known for their satisfying crunch and flavorful, spicy interior. Samosas are enjoyed not just in India but worldwide. Fans of veggie samosas also enjoy them for their bold flavors and comforting texture. They work very well for vegetarians.
Veggie Samosas at SeaWorld Orlando – $11.99

Like other Seven Seas Food Festival items, the price for an item without buying a sampler lanyard looks out of sync with reality. Of course, guests purchasing a sampler lanyard will pay around $5 per festival item.
We really enjoyed the Veggie Samosas the previous times we ate them. Guests receive three average-sized samosas with a large portion of red pepper hummus. During this visit, we did not enjoy the hummus flavor as much as before. Still, the hummus works very well with the samosas.
On our most recent visit, the vegan veggie samosas were just the right amount of crisp. The soft interior also paired well with the outer shell. While we would have preferred a more robust flavor with these Veggie Samosas, that counts as a minor criticism. The overall flavor does precisely what it claims to do, and the preparation quality also earns high marks. This will appeal to most guests, being a “safe” option at a theme park festival.
The Veggie Samosas do not qualify as a full meal. Still, they make a flavorful snack with actual nutrition at a theme park, which can be tough to find sometimes.
