You’re Going to Disney Again?
Don’t you get tired of doing the same old thing?
We all know that Walt Disney World is comprised of four theme parks and two water parks, but wait! There’s MORE! Walt Disney World offers a multitude of other activities beyond the parks. Here are some examples of how to spend your non-park days in the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Located at Disney’s Saratoga Springs resort is the world class Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. This beautiful course has hosted PGA and LPGA tours and is rated as an impressive 4 Star course by Golf Digest. At certain times you can also enjoy foot golf at this course. Two additional golf courses are located over near Shades of Green resort: Disney’s Palm is another 18-hole course and Disney’s Magnolia course has 14 beautiful holes with a full 18 to be opened later this year. There is also the 9 hole Oak Trail course for those who may prefer an executive course.
Guests can also enjoy fishing at Walt Disney World. At Disney’s Port Orleans and Fort Wilderness Campground guests can fish from the banks of the rivers. Additionally, nine resorts offer guided, catch and release fishing tours out on the waterways of Walt Disney World property. If you like to be on the water, but fishing isn’t your thing, many Disney resorts offer watercraft rentals allowing guests to cruise the lakes and rivers for a completely different view of the magic.
The resorts at Walt Disney World also have offerings for the more craft minded guest as well. Select resorts offer painting classes, mosaic tile creations, or drawing classes for a small fee. What an amazing and unique souvenir to take home!
Guests are privileged to learn cooking tips from world class Disney chefs during a brand new culinary experience! Guests age nine and up learn and work alongside the Disney culinary team to prepare a top notch meal from beginning to end. Once prepared, participants will sit and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Over at Fort Wilderness and the Tri Circle D Ranch, visitors can ride horses or go on carriage or buggy rides. If you prefer to admire the animals from afar, you can tour the barns and view Cinderella’s ponies who pull the wedding carriage.
Guests looking for a little more adult experience can participate in Sangria University at Coronado Springs where you can not only sample the house sangria but have the opportunity to create your own special blend.
And finally, don’t forget to ask at your resort about any special activities available during your stay. Many resorts have resort specific scavenger hunts, poolside activities, crafts, and seasonal activities for guests to enjoy free or at a nominal fee.
There is soooo much more to Walt Disney World than the theme parks!! That’s why the answer to that same old question, “You’re going to Disney – AGAIN!?” will always be a resounding YES!

I love Disney because
The stories I get to be a page in. I have been invited into people’s core memories. I have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, weddings. I have mourned the loss of pets, friends, family members. I have been part of the last great adventure before chemotherapy starts, I have been part of the first great adventure after chemotherapy ends. I know I’m just serving their dinner, or mixing their cocktail, but these guests have allowed me to be a part of some of the most singularly definitive moments in their lives. It is a tremendous responsibility, and a tremendous honor.
Then you get into the friendships. My best friend used to be my boss, now my kids call him “Uncle”. He is just one of the lifelong friendships that I have because of my employment with this company. I have been exposed to different cultures, different ideologies, different customs that I never would have encountered elsewhere. I see the world through a kaleidoscope of diverse viewpoints thanks to the relationships I have formed. I have friendships that span all walks of life, time zones, international borders. I’ve traveled with, gone to concerts with, gone to playoff games with, people that I’ve befriended through work.
