Magic Kingdom breakfast options are numerous. Still, most options are average at best. Which ones are the best, and what are some to avoid?

For many theme park visitors, Magic Kingdom reigns as the most magical place on earth. In fact, It continues to be the most attended theme park in the world.

Based on that, tens of thousands visit the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort every morning. Many of those people need to have some breakfast as they begin their exciting theme park day.

Sadly, Magic Kingdom has the reputation of being the weakest of the four Walt Disney World theme parks regarding dining. In fairness, some excellent castle environments can be enjoyed for table service dining. However, those signature dining locations do not compare to the quality of signature dining across Walt Disney World.

When it comes to quick service level breakfast, Magic Kingdom offers a vast number of dining options. However, some of those are far better than others. If eating a quick breakfast at Magic Kingdom while you stay on task moving from one world-class attraction to another, what places provide the better option for your spending your hard-earned vacation dining budget?

Guests can get in the queue at Main Street Bakery, the Magic Kingdom Starbucks. This location has some unique menu items, but the menu looks like the Starbucks in your local town. We enjoy the Bacon and Gouda Breakfast Sandwich, but it tastes the same as any other Starbucks. Of course, at Walt Disney World, it costs more.

If you are agnostic about your coffee brands, we suggest skipping Main Street Bakery and heading to the Joffrey’s Revive Coffee kiosk in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. This location offers some unique coffee beverages and usually a shorter queue.

Cheshire Cat Tail

Several Magic Kingdom locations offer breakfast sandwiches that are just okay. Pastry fans can visit the coffee shops. Another pastry option would be to visit the Cheshire Café for the classic Cheshire Cat Tail that is available all day.

However, what if you are a breakfast person and need something resembling a real breakfast during your morning at Magic Kingdom? What if you rope dropped the theme park utilizing early theme park admission, but now it is 10:00 a.m., and you are hungry? What are the best quick service breakfast options at Magic Kingdom?

Sadly, your choices are not great. Nevertheless, guests just like you have survived Magic Kingdom quick service breakfast.

Magic Kingdom Breakfast: Sleepy Hollow Refreshments

Though we miss the former version of waffles at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, this quick service option deserves consideration. If you remember the former waffle items here but have not heard anything, we have some bad news. The waffles have changed. The change is not for the better, foodie fans. The strawberries are no longer fresh, and the freshly made waffles are gone.

Despite that, fans of Mickey Waffles can still enjoy those with chocolate-hazelnut spread (yes, Nutella- why is Disney so cheap that they will not pay for the name?), berries, and whipped cream. On the positive side, guests can get a Mickey Waffle for a quick service price versus a table service for the same waffle.

The Friar’s Nook

Magic Kingdom Breakfast

Many food influencers used to rave about the breakfast at Friar’s Nook. We strongly disagreed then. With changes in the menu at Friar’s Nook, even those influencers can no longer defend this place as the best.

At this point, Friar’s Nook has one specific breakfast-only item: the Sausage, Egg, and Cheddar Bagel Sandwich. This costs $8.99 and tastes the same as every other standard breakfast sandwich at kiosks at Magic Kingdom during breakfast hours. However, at Friar’s Nook, guests get “tots” as a side with the sandwich.

Currently, guests can get Tiana’s Famous Beignets all day at this location. That makes for a better Magic Kingdom breakfast option, in our opinion.

Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland

Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern

If your morning finds you in Fantasyland, Gaston’s Tavern makes a reasonable Magic Kingdom breakfast choice. The classic Gaston’s cinnamon roll provides guests with a decent portion size. We suggest ordering this early in the day. Also, ask for extra icing. You will thank us later.

Everything on the Gaston’s Tavern menu is available all day. Guests can also buy the newer pastry breakfast-like item at Gaston’s Tavern, Crème Brûlée Croissant. While we prefer the cinnamon roll here due to inconsistency in the preparation of the Crème Brûlée Croissant, many guests love this item. It costs $5.49 and consists of “Crispy Croissant Dough filled with Vanilla Bean Custard.” Fair warning, this might be messy and full of sugar!

The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland

Msgic Kingdom Breakfast

Even though “lunch” is in the name of this place, it serves breakfast every morning at Magic Kingdom. Though you can buy some snack-type items, like pretzels and bubble bread, that are available at The Lunching Pad during breakfast time, this place only offers one breakfast item, a breakfast bowl.

The Breakfast Bowl costs $10.79. The menu description for this item reads, “Potato Barrels topped with a Cheese Omelet, Chili con Carne Queso, and Sour Cream.” This breakfast choice does not match the quality of the covered potato barrels at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Also, it is far inferior to the covered tater tots at Universal Islands of Adventure. Yes, if you are wondering, Universal Orlando pays Ore-Ida to be able to call them tater tots, unlike the Mouse House.

The Lunching Pad receives low reviews consistently from Magic Kingdom guests. This breakfast bowl is fine, and it may be your best breakfast choice in the Tomorrowland area unless you are getting the king of donuts at the Joffrey’s stand there. On a positive note, the portion size of this Magic Kingdom breakfast bowl deserves some praise.

What is the Best Magic Kingdom Quick Service Breakfast?

As you can tell, none of the options are perfect. The Lunching Pad Breakfast Bowl makes sense if you are looking for a portion size to fill people in your group up in the morning. Head to Gaston’s Tavern for those looking for a sweet breakfast treat.  Mickey Waffle fans have Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.

We wish you luck with whatever your group decides to do for breakfast at Magic Kingdom. As always, eat like you mean it!
