Last Chance to See ‘It’s Tough to Be a Bug’ Before Closure

Walt Disney World announced the closing date for “It’s Tough to Be a Bug. “This will be replaced with a “Zootopia” show within the Tree of Life.
The signature “Tree of Life that guests see when they enter the main area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be changing from bugs to a full zoo. “It’s Tough to be a Bug” will be replaced by a “Zootopia” attraction. The official closing of “It’s Tough to be a Bug” happens on March 17, 2025. Guests wishing to see this show again have until March 16, 2025. Walt Disney World announces the closure on its website.
As previously announced, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will open as a new 3D show inside the park’s Tree of Life during the winter of 2025. Thus, the new show is scheduled to open by the end of 2025. “It’s Tough to be a Bug” served as one of the opening day attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That attraction opened near the time that “A Bug’s Life” released in theatres back in 1998.
What Do We Know About the New Show Replacing “It’s Tough to Be a Bug”

We know from the announcement by Disney in September 2024 that “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will open at the end of this year. Disney stated that this new show bring guests on an adventure through the distinct biomes of Zootopia, just like in the animated film. The show will feature beloved characters including Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and their friends, with an all-new story created specifically for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney released a short video on social media. Ginnifer Goodwin, the voice of Judy Hoops, is seen recording a song. This song will be featured in the new show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Besides that, we do not know much, for sure, about the new show. The Disney concept art shows certain characters such as Gazelle, Chief Bogo, Yax, Finnick, Fru Fru, Flash, Priscilla, Duke Weaselton, and the Lemmings, implying that these characters might appear in the show. Of course, things constantly change at Walt Disney World. The show will also include an animatronic Clawhauser featured in the Zootopia area at Shanghai Disneyland as part of that park’s expansion.
We should expect to learn more about this show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom soon. We base that statement on the fact that “Zootopia 2” will be released in theaters in November.
