Marvel Studios is betting big on “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” to revive the MCU. Actor Paul Walter Hauser calls it the Marvel movie of the year, comparing it to “Black Panther” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel Studios is counting on “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” to elevate the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even the most devoted Marvel fan probably feels that the latest phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has lacked the quality and storytelling of the first three phases of the movie franchise.

Marvel Studios recently launched a five-and-a-half-hour livestream to promote “Avengers: Doomsday.” Still, before we see that movie, we need to take some first steps with The Fantastic Four.

Most people who watched Fox’s previous attempts to create a quality Fantastic Four movie have been disappointed. The “First Family” of Marvel Comics has been challenging for directors, writers, and producers. With Fox now under the Marvel Studios umbrella, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is taking a crack at it.

Actor Paul Walter Hauser sounds very confident regarding the new Fantastic Four movie. When he spoke with The Direct promoting his current film, “The Luckiest Man in America,” he sounded very confident in the Marvel project.

While we do not know Hauser’s role in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, he had glowing things to say about it. He started his remarks by saying that no director or studio will “hit the mark every time” with every project.

He then went on to say: “”So I think our movie, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ to me, only speaking from my opinion, everything I witnessed and took part in, everything I felt while in the presence of the creatives on the film, I believe we are the Marvel movie of the year. I believe we are the one to watch.”

He further claimed that “”And I believe that this will go down in history as one of the ones that started a new tide of successful storytelling for the company. Sort of in the same way the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’  and ‘Black Panther’ hit. They both hit in a certain way. I believe we are about to hit.”

Hauser concluded his positive words about the Marvel Cinematic Universe project by saying that the July 2025 Marvel film has “a lot of heart” and “a lot of great craftswomen and men who worked on it.”

While we know that this film will contain the introduction of Galactus, a feared Fantastic Four character, Dr. Doom’s arrival in the MCU should branch from this film. The lore of the Fantastic Four offers so many ways to go with this movie and beyond.

“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is currently in post-production and will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025. The recent Marvel livestream showed the names of several cast members in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” So, we know they also play a significant role in “Avengers: Doomsday,” with Robert Downey Jr. playing Dr. Doom.
