How to Train Your Dragon- Isle of Berk stands as one of the four intellectual properties that received lands at Universal Epic Universe. Universal Orlando Resort recently provided some more information about the land.

Universal Epic Universe opens on May 22, 2025. Rumors indicate that team member previews start soon at this brand-new theme park. It would be an understatement to say that excitement builds for this new theme park. Universal even bought a Super Bowl ad and dropped teaser videos after the big game.

Universal Orlando Resort shared some things that guests should be excited about at the How to Train Your Dragon- Isle of berk area of Universal Epic Universe.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, according to Universal Orlando Resort, qualifies as a work of art brought to life. Guests will be nestled high above the sea in an immersive village that welcomes them with a familiar pair of massive Viking and dragon statues, as seen in the films. Also, a lagoon overflowing with ships and fantastic views of the dragons’ domains, rocky cliffs, and towering mountains.

The official blog stated that “Everything is authentic to the Vikings of Berk, from the 9-foot-tall door frames to the handmade benches. The dragons that rule the skies are a sight to behold as well, and you can watch in awe as they soar above while you make your way around the theme park to each of the thrilling attractions in Isle of Berk.”

Epic Universe: Meeting “How to Train Your Dragon” Characters

Universal Epic Universe guests can meet Hiccup and Toothless. Haddock Paddock is the place to hang out with Hiccup and Toothless. The rest of the “How to Train Your Dragon” characters, like Astrid and Stormfly, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, and other Vikings, can be found wandering about the wild world of Berk.

In Berk, there will be dragons that take flight in the skies. Yes, dragons will be among you at Universal Epic Universe. A Monstrous Nightmare or a Gronckle might be soaring above, so guests should be on the lookout. We would expect these “dragons” to function like drones in the Isle of Berk.

“The Untrainable Dragon” at the Isle of Berk

The highly anticipated show “The Untrainable Dragon” will bring the story to life at Universal Epicd Universe. Universal Orlando Resort stated, “ This attraction’s namesake brings that possibility to life in an action-packed live stage performance called The Untrainable Dragon. It’s a vibrant, visual storytelling of a new dragon that has just made the Isle of Berk its new home, and it’s not taking kindly to the Vikings who are there to train it.

In this captivating live show, you’ll be up close and personal with Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber and Astrid as they try their hands — and claws — at taming this barbaric beast. Watch your head; a dragon just might take flight and soar above the heads of onlookers bold enough to stick around for the show!”

Hiccup’s Wing Gliders

Guests get the chance to fly on Hiccup’s Wing Gliders attraction. This coaster has wings on either side and soars you into the sky for a perfect dragon’s-eye view of Universal Epic Universe.

Do you want to become a Viking? The Isle of Berk allows that to happen. Dragon Racer’s Rally enables guests to soar to new heights as a Viking. Dragon Racer’s Rally is a thrilling attraction where you can practice aerobatic maneuvers and barrel rolls on the all-Viking-made dragon-riding trainer.

Frye Drill

The Isle of Berk will also have Fyre Drill. This attraction works like a boat ride that causes a splash or two. This family-friendly attraction puts guests’ fire-fighting skills to work at Berk’s Fyre Skööl as they board a ship and put the water cannons on full blast. All guests must do is aim for the flame-like targets and maybe other guests, too!

Mead Hall

Mead Hall serves as the primary dining area at the Isle of Berk. Universal Orlando Resort said, “Mead Hall is every Viking’s go-to place to congregate, enjoy some good grub and have a grand old time. Feast on meals fit for a Viking that include meat, fish, sandwiches and desserts, and guests aged 21 and older with valid photo ID can sip on a slew of meads, ciders and ales. You’ll be dining surrounded by walls draped in tapestries that tell the most thrilling of dragon tales while nestled beneath a giant chandelier that lights up the room and fosters a warm, inviting atmosphere.” We did get more information about the food in all the lands at Universal Epic Universe, which you can read about here.

This training Camp will be the Viking interactive play area for kids to develop their skills and discover all sorts of dragon species. Kids can climb towers and take on challenging agility courses. They can also launch sheep and play drums and chimes. The Viking Training Camp will be ideal for the little ones.

This Universal Epic Universe theme park land offers plenty to do. With the promise of meeting and seeing dragons fly overhead, the Isle of Berk should be an amazing place for guests of all ages.
