Universal Orlando went all-in by purchasing one of those expensive Super Bowl ads, allowing future guests to see more of Universal Epic Universe theme park.

Universal Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort opens May 22, 2025. This highly anticipated theme park will be the first major theme park built in the Orlando area since 1999 when Universal Islands of Adventure opened. Universal Orlando Resort purchased an ad for the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Peter Bray, founder and executive creative director at ad agency Bray & Co., told CBS MoneyWatch that advertisers are forking over close to $8 million on average for a 30-second spot during Super Bowl LIX. He estimates that around 51 minutes of advertising have been sold for the approximately three to four-hour broadcast this year, making the total ad sales in the hundreds of millions.

Universal Epic Universe portals will emerge upon Super Bowl LIX viewers screens this Sunday night. As part of the highly anticipated commercials that will air during the sporting event, Universal Orlando Resort is debuting a new ad. This ad features the theme park lands of Universal Epic Universe theme park. These include the worlds of:

  • SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
  • How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk,
  • Dark Universe
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

The spot will air right after the big game and just before the official trophy ceremony. Universal Orlando stated that this commercial will leave viewers saying, “You’ve got to see this!” Of course, you can watch the Super Bowl LIX ad today.
