Is the Chicken Tikka Masala at SeaWorld Orlando still worth trying? Please read our updated Seven Seas Food Festival review before you go.

In a previous review, we examined the Veggie Samosas from the Indian Market at the Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando. Another dish we enjoyed previously during this festival, which runs on select days through May 4, is the Chicken Tikka Masala. We decided to try it again to check on the quality and preparation level from earlier in the event.
What is Chicken Tikka Masala?
Chicken Tikka Masala remains a popular Indian-inspired dish known for its rich, creamy tomato-based sauce and tender marinated chicken pieces. Orlando area theme park festivals at Epcot and Universal Studios Florida often serve this dish.
To make Chicken Tikka Masala, the chicken is first marinated in yogurt and spices like cumin, coriander, and garam masala, then grilled or roasted to develop a smoky flavor. Then, the chicken simmers in a sauce made with tomatoes, cream, and aromatic spices, resulting (hopefully) in a balance of heat, tanginess, and sweetness.
The precise origins of Chicken Tikka Masala remain debated, with many claiming it was first created in the UK. However, it has become popular worldwide, especially in British cuisine. Chicken Tikka Masala is typically served with naan or steamed basmati rice, making it a comforting and satisfying meal.
Chicken Tikka Masala at Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando – $11.99

This dish is served at the Indian Market at the Seven Seas Food Festival. The menu description reads, “Tomato Cream Sauce, Peppers, Jasmine Rice.” That generic description initially made us wonder how it would taste. When we tried it previously, we thought it was an above-average dish. However, we enjoyed the Veggie Samosas at SeaWorld more during previous visits for this theme park food festival.
On our most recent visit, we noticed the preparation looks different than earlier in the festival. This time, it came in a bowl with a healthy portion of chicken and sauce on top of the rice. While texture may not be an issue for some guests with this dish, we found the mixture very pleasant.
How Was This Dish at SeaWorld Orlando?

As we started eating it, the chicken tikka masala offered a bit of theme park-level spice. As we ate more, the spicy kick level went up more. However, most guests who are not averse to these types of spices should be fine.
The dish also offered a good flavor. This was not an attempt to disguise weak components with spices and sauce. Well, at least that counts as our perception this time. This is not a rice-based dish but a dish with rice.
The portion size earns a little praise. This might count as a meal by itself for some. If guests also order the Veggie Samosas to share, two people can easily dine and share both items. Though we have concerns about people ordering this at the posted price of $11.99, it is still not a horrible deal. With a sampler lanyard, like we used, it makes a great deal at around five dollars.
