SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival offers Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos, a twist on the theme park favorite. How do they measure up?

Orlando area theme park foodie fans have many menu items that are universally loved. One version of nachos that both Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World visitors love, Ahi Tuna Nachos! Whether at Yak & Yeti or Confisco Grill, the ahi tuna nachos taste wonderful. Those table service nachos consistently receive rave reviews from diners.
This year, guests can purchase a sample-size version of Ahi Tuna Nachos at the Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando. The SeaWorld version is called Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos. They cost $11.99 without a festival sampler lanyard. The menu description for these nachos indicates that guests receive tortilla chips, toasted sesame oil vinaigrette, wakame, Spicy aioli, and Furikake.
Guests will find these nachos at the Polynesian Market. This festival location functions as a hot dog stand serving Nathan’s Hot Dogs most of the year.

The first thing most experienced Orlando area theme park visitors will notice relates to the chips. These nachos use standard tortilla chips, not wonton chips, as Orlando area theme park fans are used to getting with ahi tuna. In simple terms, the tortilla chips are the weakest part of this festival food item.
The other obvious potential negative of the Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos involves the messy factor. Given how they are served and the amount of toppings and sauce, guests are bound to make a mess with these.
Nevertheless, these nachos deserve a second look based on the chips and messiness issue. The spicy aioli may not be remarkable, but it fits well with the other components of these nachos. In addition, the additional flavor of the aioli enhanced the tuna and chips. The other components, like the wakame, do not detract from the nachos, but do not help much either.

The tuna is not up to the quality of the famous table service versions at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. Still, the portion size is more than expected and works well.
It tastes like a starter kit or a warm-up act to prepare guests for the more famous Ahi Tuna Nachos at Orlando area theme parks. In fairness, this festival food sample cost us less than five dollars with the annual pass member sampler lanyard. At that price, it makes a great choice. At $12, it would not get a high review.

Overall, if you find yourself at SeaWorld Orlando for the Seven Seas Food Festival, this makes an excellent snack using a sampler lanyard. Sure, we would like it to be better, but it is impossible to complain about the price.
