We review SeaWorld Orlando’s Pork Pinchos, a divisive dish at the Seven Seas Food Festival. Read about our experience and quality concerns.

This year, pork pinchos can be easily found at the Orlando area theme park festivals. During Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando, that theme park sold a Pork Pincho. SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival also offers a Pork Pincho. Since the Seven Seas Food Festival runs until May 4, guests still have time to try it.
What are Pork Pinchos?

Pork pinchos, in particular, function as street food, especially in Puerto Rico. These savory skewers represent a flavorful and accessible culinary tradition. Pinchos consist of marinated pork chunks, threaded onto skewers and grilled over an open flame. This cooking method imparts a smoky flavor. They are a staple at local festivals, roadside stands, and family gatherings.
These seasonings used create a rich, complex taste. While pork is the most common meat, variations exist, allowing for customization. Serving the cooked pork skewer with a piece of bread is also a traditional way to enjoy them. In essence, pork pinchos offer a delicious and authentic taste of Puerto Rican cuisine, combining simple ingredients with bold flavors.

Guests can find the Pork Pinchos at the Caribbean Market. This food and beverage location resides near the front of the park. The menu description for this new item this year reads, “Grilled Pork Skewer, BBQ Sauce, Grilled Cuban Bread.”
We have tasted this festival food on a few previous occasions, and we felt it was above-average. However, the Pork Pinchos qualify as a very divisive item. During the event’s opening weekend, many colleagues experienced either great-tasting Pork Pinchos or very poorly prepared ones. In fact, some Pork Pinchos on opening weekend were not fully cooked, which counts as a major mistake for pork.
Preparation Issues

Thus, we decided to come back to find out if the preparation improved. On our recent visit, we tasted an unremarkable version—just okay. The Pork Pincho offered nothing exciting. We detected a bit of Caribbean spice but nothing too spectacular.
Also, the accompanying bread failed to live up to our previous visits to this event. It appears we got an average to below-average version of the Pork Pincho this time. That happens. Based on this experience and some sub-par experiences by colleagues, we would avoid this item and choose one of the many other Seven Seas Food Festival items.
