Main Street 16 Challenge Weekend

For anyone who may not know, the Main Street 16 Challenge Weekend was born from a desire to give back in some way. Being a mostly Disney focused podcast, it seemed natural to choose a charity such as Give Kids the World Village to partner with. Therefore, for the last three years Jeremy and Rhonda have hosted Main Street 16 Challenge Weekend benefiting Give Kids the World Village.

The whole weekend consists of a ticketed Trivia Event on Friday, the Main Ride Challenge on Saturday, and the Champions Breakfast Sunday Morning. Several returning teams competed with some new comers this year, and ultimately, one of our new competitors, Baby on Board the People Mover, took the win in 7 hours and 12 minutes! If I’m not mistaken, that is an MS16 record!

We added a new layer to the fun this year, asking teams to Disney Bound or dress in wacky costumes while competing. Team Little Read Wagon captained by our resident meteorologist Alan Gerard took the win as the Triple Mountain Whammy (the backstory there may or may not have played a part). And while all our teams did a wonderful job raising over $10,000, another new comer to the challenge, Heather Carson’s Gingerbombs raised the most by a single team. They were even able to garner a donation while in line for one of our challenge rides from a fellow guest!

Everything about this weekend is always so fun and exciting, but what is the most amazing to me is this community. There have been lifelong friendships and deep bonds formed all because two people started a podcast.

Once again — a HUGE Thank You to everyone involved whether you competed, attended trivia, donated, shared, or just cheered from the sidelines, this event is not possible without YOU! Thank you so, so, so much! And we are doing it again next year!!! Official dates have not been determined yet, but will most likely be the last weekend of April. Contact Main St Magic Travel to get those rooms booked!
